William Stewart, Founder and Pet Care Professional
William is passionate about providing his clients with peace of mind by offering safe, compassionate, professional care for their pets. In addition to almost two decades of hands-on experience caring for pets, William is a certified professional dog walker through the Dog Walking Academy. He is also a member of Pet Sitters International and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. To stay current on research, methodology, and trends affecting pets and their owners, he regularly attends leading pet industry conferences like the Pet Professionals’ Guild and subscribes to top trade magazines. He has also been trained in Pet CPR and Pet First Aid through Pet Tech, and he is fully insured and bonded.
William’s pet care career unofficially began back in college, when he was often asked to look after the pets of friends, family members, and others in the community. This part-time hobby soon grew into a full-blown passion, and in 2016, he became a fulltime professional pet care provider when he founded iWillWalkBoston.
Since then, he has steadily grown his business by going above and beyond for his human clients and their four-legged friends. Because every person and pet is different, he always tailors his services to his clients’ specific needs and lifestyle. As a doggie dad himself, William understands how important pets are to their families, and he always treats them with the same type of kindness and respect he would give to his own family members.
When not caring for other people’s pets, William enjoys time with his life and business partner, Don Verfaille, and their son - a Labrador Retriever named Rebel Cartman.
Don Verfaille, Operations Guru and Pet Care Professional
While William spends most of his time walking, training, and caring for pets, Don is the one who keeps the business humming along behind the scenes. A graduate of Syracuse University, he was a successful software engineer before joining William in running iWillWalkBoston.
In addition to managing the company’s billing, scheduling, and email inquiries, Don often has the opportunity to care for pets as well. As a certified professional pet sitter, he brings many of the same skills he used as a software engineer to his caretaking role including attention to detail, situational awareness, organization, and a much-needed sense of humor.
Although he never had a dog before he met William, Don can honestly say that his life has now totally gone to the dogs - and he wouldn’t have it any other way!
What our clients have to say...
"William is a life-changer. He is a superb dog walker: reliable rain, shine or blizzard; exceptionally kind to our dog; knowledgeable about dog safety; and intuitively able to connect with dogs regardless of their temperament or quirks. He never hesitates to go the extra mile. You can not do better!" -Derry S.
DOG LICENSING
State law requires that every dog owner get a license for their dog each year. If your dog is six months or older, you need to get them a rabies vaccine and a license. You also need proof of current vaccinations to get a license.
SPAYING AND NEUTERING
While it is not a requirement to have your pet spayed or neutered, we strongly recommend it. Spayed and neutered pets are more affectionate, live longer, and are less likely to roam. If your dog is fixed, you'll get a discount on your license fee.
LEASH LAWS
The law requires that you have your dog on a leash when you're off your property. Your dog must be under control when they are not in your house or fenced in by a yard. Do not let your dog roam the neighborhood, get into trash, or bother the public in any way. The same rules apply when you are at the park with your dog. Responsible dog owners should respect the rights of others in the park.
